How To

Repairing a damaged motor on a drone

It is important to first identify which motor part is damaged before you can repair it. The best way to do so is to take the propeller off the motor shaft. You should then remove the wires that are attached to the motor, and examine the inner workings. If you notice something amiss, you'll know what part of your motor to fix.

You don't need to worry if there's no damage to your motor. However, a motor that looks like the one below will require you to replace certain components before you can fly again.

Let's say that a motor is bent so that it can no longer turn. This means that you will need to bend the motor back into shape. To hold the motor in place, you can use a pair or vice grips. After this is done, you should inspect the motor carefully for any signs or wear.

Once you're satisfied that everything's ok, put the propeller back onto the motor shaft and reattach the wires. Now your drone is ready to fly!
